The season is near!

March has arrived and it's time for Spring cleaning and as I noted in the last post, I've been thinking about eBay selling again. Unfortunately I don't have any inventory. The only thing I have posted is an almost complete set of some romance novels that my girlfriend inherited that no one seems to be interested in. I'm thinking about raiding my parent's house to find things to perhaps sell. Also, since it IS Spring, 'tis the season for garage sales.. so we'll see if I can wake my happy ass up that early to go rummaging through them.

My girlfriend told me she has lots of stuff that she can sell at her parent's house as well.. too bad she's very reluctant on letting go of anything. I bought her a new phone to replace an iPhone with shattered screen yet she's still reluctant to get rid of it. That and her parents live two hours away.

I've also been using Amazon's Mechanical Turk, not bad.. made about $20 in a few hours worth of work.. kind of annoying sorting through all the low paying, reserved, and uninteresting jobs though. I've also signed up for eLance and oDesk but those sites are impacted with overseas workers so I don't know how well that's going to work out.

That's the way the market crumbles, I guess.

Update since I last posted in 2010:

I finally found a job. It was entry-level and I'm still stuck in it three years later. However it pays.. somewhat decently for the amount of work I do, provides health care, AND a retirement fund. Though this new employment I've been able to save in a 403b, Tax Deferred Account, AND a ROTH IRA.

That being said.. I think the theme of this blog is going to change a little bit. Instead of $100 plus interest, I guess it'll just be about investing and making extra money on the side which is something I've really been interested in.

I've been looking for online/weekend side jobs to supplement my income as I have a new interest in option trading. Haven't gotten to do any of it yet since I'm too scared to utilize my retirement funds (currently a buy-and-hold strategy) but I've dabbled a bit using investopedia.com's simulator. I've been looking at becoming a notary which, from my understanding, would provide a good amount of supplemental income even as part-time/weekend work. Another possibility I've ruminated on was house flipping/real estate as my girlfriend and I have been watching a lot of Home and Garden network, I still haven't decided if its an actual goal or if the network has been planting seeds in my head, in either case.. well played HnG, well played.

Also, I've been thinking about getting back into eBay trading. I did it a long time ago back in high school and made a few hundred from that but I'm out of things to sell.. at least things worthwhile. All I have now is a complete book set and a broken TV set.

Well, here's to the hustle~
